So here we are, more than 2 weeks into our cross-country journey and we figured it's about time we introduced ourselves and give a little background information about who we are and what we're about!
We are Bach and Hannah and we've been married for 9 years, together for 13. We met during our 4th year at UCSD, set up by a mutual friend (thanks Julius!). Bach graduated with a BS in Cognitive Science and Hannah with a BA in Art History/Criticism.
Bach is a software engineer and a founder of a software company, Shopventory. He's working remotely while we travel. Hannah was previously a kindergarten teacher for 2 years, then went on to open a women's boutique and ran that for 6 years before selling the business to venture into this new journey. As you can tell, we are both very entrepreneurial at heart! I (Hannah) am now learning how to code to become a web developer so we can get started on our next project.
We are both in our mid 30s and I've gotta say, this is the most exciting time of our lives! We have been extremely fortunate that events have lined up to allow us the freedom to work and travel. Over the years, I began to realize how sheltered I had been, living in a very nice, comfortable bubble in San Diego. 2017 was a year of self-realization and a time that inspired change in both of our lives. When I got the idea to drop everything and hit the road, Bach was game. We were both so ready to go out into the world and get fresh perspectives on life.
So far our plan is to travel for at least a year, but we'll see where life takes us! We're barely 2 1/2 weeks in and have been really enjoying this nomadic lifestyle. It's already teaching us to be flexible and be creative when dealing with unexpected events.
That's a brief introduction to our story! Bach and I, along with our three pups, look forward to what this life has in store for us.
